First signs of Pregnancy
The most common health question asked by women is whether she is pregnant. The symptoms of pregnancy are easily recognizable if it is not the first pregnancy. The symptoms remain the same in all pregnancy. However during one pregnancy one may experience pain of the breasts, vomiting or nausea and in another these symptoms may not be experienced.
Sore, tender or swollen breasts
The first sign of pregnancy is swollen or sore nipples or breasts. Most of the times, women come to know that they are pregnant by this symptom. The reason for swollen breasts is that they undergo changes so that they can breastfeed the child. There is an increase in the production of hormones- progesterone and estrogen and this causes the breasts to swell. This process is quite painful during first pregnancy.
Fatigue
During early pregnancy the body of women works hard to keep the body fit for changes in the body. So the hormone production increases and heart beats faster so as to bring in enough nutrients to the fetus. The main reason of extra fatigue is the increase in production of  progesterone. One more reason for unusual tiredness is emotional extremes faced during pregnancy. It is common among pregnant woman to cry for no reason. This signifies that the woman should get enough sleep so that there is enough energy when the baby arrives.
Delayed period
Pregnancy results in missing periods and is one of the first signs of pregnancy. Pregnancy can be confirmed only by a test and by examining the pelvis. Once the medical professional rules out pregnancy for delayed periods is to think of several other options.
Light bleeding
During early pregnancy there may be light bleeding and the main reason is implantation. Bleeding during implantation occurs because implantation of fertilized eggs takes place in the walls of the uterus. This usually occurs after 10 to 14 days of conception. Another symptom is cramping which is similar to menstrual cramps. This happens mainly due to expansion of the uterus as it makes place for the fetus.
Morning sickness
During early pregnancy nausea may be caused with or at times without vomiting. Morning sickness mostly occurs between the fourth and the eighth week. However in many cases the beginning of this symptom takes place in about two weeks after conception. Morning sickness may occur at any time of the day or night. This happens mainly due to the rapid rise of estrogen which are produced by the placenta and the fetus. During pregnancy, a woman’s sense of smell increases and so the smell of any household item like perfume, food and smoke may make her vomit or cause nausea.
Bathroom running
During pregnancy there is a possibility of high urination. Most intense and frequent urination happens in the first and third trimester.
