Wouldn't that be one of the best things he could do for the people of Chicago and America?
Why is he instead harping on the need for more and bigger handouts from responsible people?
I did support him until I realized how he just doesn't care enough about people throwing away the education that taxpayers work hard to provide.
auction,
I haven't heard McCain harping on a need to give big handouts to irresponsible people who drop out of school or who have babies as teens. Obama wants more handouts. Sick. Right?

if those are your own two criterion on voting for president, you won't find anyone on the major parties to suit your desires.

The better question is why do you think the government needs to solve your problems. Better parenting would be the answer to school drop out rates and teen pregnancy.

He and Pastor Wright are waiting for the white people to do it since afterall it's the whiteman's fault.
ADD: I think myredn- nailed this on the head. If people were parenting their children there wouldn't be these kinds of problems. It is not the government's job to hold your hand through life. ( unless you're an inmate)

Obama is a typical liberal. He is concerned about the problems of the world far more than he is the problems in his own neighborhood.
That way he really doesn't have to accomplish anything positive.
He can spend his life fighting the good fight and moving from one left wing cause to another without ever having any real effect on anything. It's a great way to get power and other rewards.

Find where he is recommending what you say he is recommending.
This is the same verbatim bullsh*t peddled against every Democrat at every election. And you have nothing relevant to support what you just wrote here regarding Obama.

His church is heavily involved in those kinds of things. I know, you thought they spent all their time hatin' on whitey.

He would have to admit that this is a problem, then he would have to acknowledge it is a particular problem in the African American community, and that is something most liberal African American leaders will not do or recognize. If he did, he would not only admit there is a problem, but he would want to do something about it. Before announcing, he would want a plan in place that addresses the problems, offers credible solutions, and how it can be financed. Now there's a big problem because at this point, he has become a Republican.

It's not his responsibility. Increasing drop-out rates and teen pregnancy is a parental problem. People need to develop better parenting skills, this is not an issue the government should be handling. The government cannot and should not be everything to it citizens. There has to be some personal responsibility. Parents should stop trying be their kids friends, and show some guidance.

Drop-outs, single moms and welfare kids all vote Democrat. Why would he want to reduce his voter support base?
