View Full Version : miscarriage...?
hi, I had a miss last month and wanted to find out how lond does it usually take after a misscarriage to get a period?
thanks a lot!
Thank you, ladies for your answers. we have a kid already so this miss wasn't a HUGE disappointment, just a very unpleasant situation. we are very anxios to get back to 'working' though as after the misscarriage, I realized I REALLY wanted to have another baby in the house... :)

I bled for about 5 days before my miscarriage, and about 2 days after, and then had a period about six weeks after that. I don't know if it varies depending on how far along you were, but I was 16 weeks.

It depends on the person. Some women their periods come the very next month and some it takes a month or 2. If your trying to get pregnant again I'd wait a couple of months before trying again, you wanna give your body some healing time. Good luck!

Often the miscarriage simply reinstates a normal cycle. This would mean that you could ovulate (as normal) and your next period will arrive the same amount of time after the m/c as your regular periods were. It can depend on whether the hormone levels in your body were high at the time of m/c, but you might find that it gets back to normal pretty quickly. Sorry to hear of your sad loss, and sending you the best of luck! xoxoxox

Sorry for your loss. I have had a few friends miscarry. They all had their period again in about 4-6 weeks. Good luck and I wish you continued healing

I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. Bleed for a week after and it took 6 months for a period and a year for a regular one. But we are all different. You need to concentrate on feeling better and then your period should follow. Sometimes worry and stress can prevent a period.
