I know it is reccommended to wait at least 3 months after a miscarriage, but my question is, what could happen if you don't wait that long?

How far along were you?? I had one early at 5 weeks, and my midwife told me to start trying right away, as it would help with my emotional healing. If you needed a procedure like a D&C, your body does need time to heal and you might not get pregnant right away, but if you do, I don't think that there are any major ramifications for it. I am encountered with several people that have voluntary abortions, just to end up pregnant again right away. (it's a shame I know) but my point is that when your body is ready, you will get pregnant.

you can potentially risk suffering another one. Just make an informed decision about it. I suffered a miscarriage in Sept last year and we didn't try until i got my period after the micarriage and that was after a month and a half! I wish you best of luck!

There is no medical evidence what so ever to wait X amount of cycles before conceiving again. The idea of waiting is an old school way of thinking and not based on medical facts. Past pregnancies do not affect future pregnancies. You do not need to recover from a pregnancy or a miscarriage- you were not sick or injured.

The only reason to wait until after you get your first period before trying to conceive again is so that the doctor would have a better idea of when you ovulated. This way they could more accurately date the pregnancy which would help them be more accurate in monitoring the baby.

And the notion that your lining needs time to build up is a bunch of crap. Every month when you get your period, your body sheds your lining. You start with a new one each cycle. There is no getting stronger and building up over multiple cycles.

Unfortunately, miscarriages are very common. They occur in 25% of all pregnancies. Having one miscarriage does not increase your chances of having another.

As soon as you are mentally ready, you can start trying again. Many women have conceived immediately following a miscarriage and go on to have healthy babies.

I had an ectopic pregnancy Jan 14 this year, it ruptured need emergency surgery and lost a tube. It took two weeks to heal and was told by the surgeon that it would be 8 weeks before i even had a normal cycle. 4 weeks after surgery i had tender breast and thought it was just hormonal but felt similar as i had before the ectopic but ignored the signs. So i did a test it was positive!! I am 9 weeks pregnant and there is no risk!! I was told you dont have to wait but I'm not sure if that is different for miscarriage. But i had a curette which apparently makes you more fertile. Think it is old school thinking to wait??? XX
