Uggh, I had a fever at 14 weeks. Anyone else have a fever during pregnancy, specifically the 2nd or 1st trimester? Is your child healthy? Do they have any behavioral or emotional probs? THANKS for your help!
Yes, I definitely saw my dr. I did treat it with tylenol, and it immediately went down and didn't come back, but I'm not sure how long I had the fever before I found out.

Fever is usually an indication of infection, is your OB aware of this fever?

I was sick during my pregnancy with my son. Fever can be controlled with Tylenol and you shouldn't be too worried. Of course you know already to talk to your doctor about your illness etc and have them monitor you. If you stay hydrated and fill yourself with fluids and keep the fever down as best you can your baby will be just fine. My son is perfect.

As long as it's not too high, (103) you and your baby should be fine, especially if you got it down. If it is really high, and stays high for a long time, than your baby could have problems, but it sounds like you have it in control.

I got sick several times during all 3 of my pregnancies. It happens to all of us-- 9 months is a long time for anyone to go with out being sick, so don't stress over it too much!

I had strep with a wicked fever at almost 14 weeks. I had the fever off and on for about 4 days. My daughter is now 3 and is developmentally delayed. She operates on the same level as children who are about 1 1/2 years old. My doctor and her pediatrician said it was not the fever that caused this. She has something called delayed myelination. The sheath around her brain that helps transmit the electrical signals from her nerves to her brain is not developing as quickly as it does with average children. They say the cause is most likely environmental, since she was developing at a very advanced pace until she hit about 4-5 months(she could actually reach out and grab an object when she was 2 weeks old--the doc didn't believe me until she tested it for herself!). Don't worry, just keep taking care of yourself, and have a lot of vitamin C rich foods to help prevent future colds/fevers! Congrats to you and may you have a happy healthy baby.
