So Blessed

Okay I went to my doctor last week (Thurs) and he confirmed my pregnancy! He then did a pap smear and told me that I should expect some spotting. I have gone several days and then on Sunday begin spotting light brown. Now today on Tuesday it is a light pink spotting with very little discharge . Is this normal? This is my first pregnancy so I need help.
Also, I've had very little cramping in my abdominal area. I know I'm probably freaking out for no reason but since this is my first, it really concerns me. I just keep praying for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby or babies!
It's 8:25 pm I just got out of the shower and when drying off I discovered a little darker blood on the towel. However, it still isn't bright red and I am not cramping. Somebody tell me am I over reacting or is this just normal? I think I am worrying myself too much.

Spotting is normal in pregnancy. It's bright red bleeding filling a pad along with cramping that you don't want.
The cervix is very very easily irritated. It can spot for no obvious reason at all.

Spotting is definitely normal. I'd be worried if the blood was clotty, cramps accompanied the blood, or if it was enough blood to fill a pad. If none of those, then it's normal. A lot of women bleed during pregnancy. I had a good bit of blood come out (more than spotting) around 12 weeks and everything was fine. Remember that you have A LOT more blood flowing through you now so even a slight scratch down there can mean a lot of blood.

Light Brown blood means old blood. You should be fine. i spotted just like that w/ my first pregnancy and freaked out. The doctor said it was fine.

Light brown means it's old blood.
Bright red blood means something is wrong.
Relax, do not stress yourself over it.
Your dr already advised you that it was possible.
If you have any bright red blood with cramping, go to your DR at once, or the ER.
Other than that, take a breath and welcome to Mommyhood!

I am now 28 weeks pregnant, and let me tell you, bleeding or spotting can be quite common during pregnancy. I spotted throughout, although there are sometimes causes for the bleeding, it is mostly nothing. As long as you are not cramping or filling a pad in an hour, you are probably alright. My Dr. has always said that brown or pink is fine, and red CAN be from something else. Again, if I could give you any advice, it would be to not worry too much as your body knows what to do even if your mind does not! Good luck, and I am sure you will be fine!
