I am 16 weeks pregnant and I am returning my doppler tomorrow because I use it TOO much and it's really making me insane. I don't have a doc appointment for another 12 days and I heard the HB 3 days ago (haven't used my doppler since). I am SOOO scared to go in and there not be a HB anymore... (I have my ultrasound in 12 days too). Can someone help me out here with my fears?
I'm returning the doppler because it actually causes more anxiety for me. What I'm afraid of is going into my Dr Appt. 2 weeks from now and have the heartbeat not be there anymore

WHO GETS THEIR OWN DOPPLER?

Oh, ok well I also bought a heart doppler early on in the pregnancy. If you do decide to keep it Just use it maybe once a day right after you eat when baby is more active. Think about it if you return it, in a couple weeks when baby is moving all over the place and then sleeps for a while wont you want to check? Anxiety is completely normal during pregnancy. We are responsible for bringing a life into this world. You are not alone...Most of us have some sort of fear regarding our pregnancies. Relax...You heard the heart beat a few days ago you should be excited!

First of all, congrats on your new baby!

Now, unless you've had previous late-term miscarriages, you should be fine. Miscarriage after the 13th week is extremely rare, so you've made it through high-risk portion of pregnancy and should have nothing to worry about. Just sit back, let your partner give you foot massages and enjoy your glow! :)

Hope this helped.

i can remember being scared just like you are... you need to relax and also put this in God's hands..he will take care of you and your baby..try to stop stressing over this...it will just drive you insane and it will not change one thing...usually if something is wrong .. most miscarriages happen during the first trimester...you are almost half way there...yeahhhhh go look at baby things....decorate your nursery....pack your overnite bag for the hospital...return the Doppler...you dont need it...the baby sounds just fine..and at 16 weeks you should be starting to feel some movement...yes?? dont panic if the baby doesn't move all the time...they go through spells where they are still ... but you can dismiss your fears Hun...congratulations!!! ;d God Bless

Leah, it OK. You will continue to hear a heart beat. You are well into your pregnancy and I really think the baby is fine. Unless you have a history of problems in mid to late pregnancy. Women buy that Bebe sounds amplifier. Although you can't detect the HB until much later with that.
If you think you are fixating on it and it is causing you anxiety than go ahead and return the Doppler. Maybe you can convince yourself that you don't NEED to hear the baby so often and keep the Doppler.
I know you'll make the right choice. Don't worry though. I really think you will both be very healthy.

I am 16 weeks as well. I am nervous throughout this pregnancy because I had 2 m/c's back to back last year.

Once you hit the 13 or 14 week mark and you have heard a good strong heartbeat. The chance of a bad outcome are about 5%. so try to sit back and enjoy your pregnancy. You are allready able to feel the baby move at 16 weeks which should give you comfort. You just might not reconize the movement for what it is. I hope this made you feel a little better.

good luck sweetie

I was the same, i have miscarried before so i was so afraid something bad was going to happen to my baby. I was like that for most of my pregnancy until i hit the third trimester and i found it really hard to stay happy because i always thought something was going to go wrong.

I used to use my doppler just about every day just to make sure he was ok. Well i can tell you all that stressing was for nothing because 3 weeks ago i delivered a healthy baby boy!!

Try not to stress hun, you are past the first trimester so the chances of anything bad happening are extremely low! It's only natural to want to make sure your baby is ok. especially if this is ur first baby.

Just go to your ultrasound scan and the sonographer will check everything. He or she will talk to you if they have any concerns but chances are your baby is just fine. I was the same i was always just waiting for them to tell me that there was no HB but every scan i had they told me he had a good strong HB. Try not to worry hun chances are baby is doing really well and growing as he or she should be. Stay positive and just think in 24 weeks you will get to meet your new baby!! : ) Congrats!!!!
