I think that they should be thrown in jail for murder! After all, the Nations is suppose to be a free country and Freedom to live is a big Freedom. They are killing a living human being, whether they think that they are or not. What if Jesus Christ or George Washingotn had been aborted? That wouldn't have been so good would it. I am republican and I am Pro-Life!

I think she will punish herself enough. The person who performed the abortion should be put in jail for murder, because they are the ones who murdered.

people who outlaw abortions should be outlawed. no one has the right to tell another person what to do with their body.

An eye for an eye...just kidding :) I DO NOT believe in the death penalty EITHER
The issue is not abortion, but prevention in the first place!!! People need to be more responsible for their action...it is undeniable for every action their is an equal and opposite reaction...PREGNANCY is one of the MANY possible outcomes of having sex
I am not in support of abortion under all circumstances (as you have now)...but in extreme cases i.e. where the mother's life is in danger.
If abortion is ever outlawed then a women that has one should have some sort of minimum mandatory sentence the same as you do w/ manslaughter...I doubt this will happen, since not everyone sees the world as I do and their views are just as valid as mine...NOT being facetious either
The issue of abortion and the death penalty should be put on a national ballot for a popular vote...JUST MY TWO CENTS

She should be aborted.
Yes. That answer is just as ridiculous as outlawing abortion.

Better still... Murder of a living human being is outlawed. How should the executioner, the judge who ordered the execution and the Governor who didnt stop it be punished?
How should the serviceman who kills, the president who ordered it and the politicians who approved war be punished?
Killing is killing no matter how you look at it or who is being killed. I would be much more comfortable with the unborn and unwanted never existing than have the murder of living beings on my conscience.

Why just the woman, it takes two to make a baby. Both parents are responsible for bringing an unwanted human being into the world.
My answer would be what happened before it was legal? Nothing really. Women weren't punished and they wouldn't be punished now.

In the days when abortions were illegal, the woman (more usually girl) who obtained one was never charged, only the provider of that service.
Even today, women who obtain illegal abortions (such as being too late in the pregnancy or using banned drugs to abort the baby) don't receive punishment, it is the doctor/s who helped them who get charged.
This just happened where I live actually - the doctor was struck off the record but she did not go to prison or anything like that.
