Tubal Pregnancy
Tubal Pregnancy also called ectopic pregnancy is a kind of pregnancy that is developed outside the uterus of a woman. There is no normal implant of the fertilized eggs from the ovary. In the abdomen the egg is developed somewhere else. So the products are abnormal and are not developed into normal fetuses. The fallopian tube is the most common place where ectopic pregnancy takes place. The tubes which transport eggs to the uterus from the ovary are called fallopian tubes. These pregnancies can also be found on the ovaries, outside the uterus and at times attached to bowel. A serious problem of ectopic pregnancy is hemorrhage of the inner abdomen. For example, the egg develops in the fallopian tube and this tube expands and eventually ruptures. There are arteries in the fallopian tubes which if ruptured causes severe bleeding.
Causes of ectopic pregnancy
The main cause of ectopic pregnancy is when the fertilized egg is stuck in the fallopian tube and is unable to travel to the uterus. The egg can not continue moving towards the uterus when the tube is scarred, distorted or scarred. If there has been an infection like pelvic inflammatory disease or gonorrhea, surgery in the abdomen which involves ovaries, uterus or the lower abdomen and if fertility medication is used at the time of conception then ectopic pregnancy takes place. If intrauterine device is used the chances of ectopic pregnancy is not increased. With intrauterine device in place the chances of normal pregnancy is less. Under such circumstances if a woman becomes pregnant, the chances of pregnancy in the uterus is less.
